FLAT Rubber Belt 30 x 4.0 x 0.5 mm mm shaped is made professionally by a company having  long-time experiences with producing of the belts for audio devices. Selected material and the belt itself is of very good quality. However, this is universal generic belt. High-end cassette decks used the belts that were designed specially for the particular model. Each transport works best with the belt of specific properties – material used, hardness, elasticity, etc. Even with the belt of excellent quality, an original manufacturer-specified wow/flutter specs are not guaranteed. Also, it is important where the belt is used. For example, the intercapstan belt should be harder and less elastic, to ensure the best inter-capstan tension. Most probable reasons of cassette player failure

• Aged belt – needs to be replaced, there is no other help.
• Pinch roller – clean it well with IPA. If it doesn’t help, then you need to replace it.
• Corroded battery contacts – clean them well
• Volume pot oxidized – there are special sprays for that purpose. Apply only small drop, do not spray everything

Other: leaked capacitors, cracked plastic parts, old grease and oil turned into glue, dirty switches, dirt inside player, worn head (can be lapped), faulty electronics, damage caused by leaked battery, dry motor bearings

After each repair of cassette player, speed must be adjusted!
